The RSYC has had a very successful programme of RYA Training over the last 15 years. The Club is a recognised RYA Training Centre and runs both practical and theory courses for Club members and friends.

Cadet Dinghy Sailing at Gins

For 8 —16 year olds to boost their confidence at sailing in a beautiful location

2017 RYA Day Skipper Theory Course

This course equips you with enough knowledge to navigate around familiar waters by day. A basic knowledge of lights is also included to introduce you to night cruising.

RYA Powerboat Level II 2017

This is a two-day course, regarded by many as the 'driving licence' for powerboats, it offers a thorough introduction to powerboat handling.

RYA VHF/GMDSS Course 2017

The Short Range Certificate is the minimum qualification required by law to control the operation of VHF and VHF Digital Selective Calling equipment on any British flagged vessel voluntarily fitted with a radio.

RYA First Aid at sea 2017

SIn a medical emergency a little first aid knowledge and immediate action can save lives, especially in remote locations. This one-day course is designed to provide a working knowledge of first aid for people using small craft and to support skippers.

RYA Yacht Master (Theory) Course 2017

An advanced theory course in navigation, meteorology, collision avoidance, safety and passage planning.

RYA Radar Course 2017

Radar is probably the most versatile of all electronic navigation aids, but the best results are only obtained when you know how to use all the functions correctly. It is not an all seeing eye, and can easily mislead those who do not understand its controls, allow for its limitations, or interpret its picture.
