EARLY and late season in 2011 gave us the sort of sailing weather that we would be pleased to see in high summer.
This reversal of the norm was to affect our plans and expectations. So how do we cope? Well you could be philosophical and just shrug your shoulders or like us try to take this into account. Our plan is to offer more events, then, when we lose some to the weather, hopefully you will still get a good year out on the water.
This year with the Olympics, Paralympics and the J Class visit we do have a gap in the summer. We have squeezed in an August Bank holiday rally to Island Harbour, which following on immediately after the Cadet Event at Netley offers a family week activity in the school holiday.
Our October event is best described as a RSYC invasion of the Western Solent. You will need to make choices but the Cruising and Racing committees are convinced that this will be a success and wish to support each other.
Our intention is, that working with the other committees in the club, we will produce a vintage year for the membership on and off the water.
