REMEMBER Commodore Colin Lewis's helicopter trip following Britain's coastline in July to support his nominated charity, Marie Curie Cancer Care ?

The idea was to make a DVD and capture as much movie and still images as they sensibly could during the week long trip.

The Commodore and his daughter Alison flew the coast of Britain, piloted by neighbour and fellow Club member David Chisnall in David’s Bell Longranger helicopter. They set off from Sowley foreshore on the Solent, near Gins, and spent seven days tracing the coast of Britain.

They have now produced a 40 minute DVD complete with 147 animated slides and music by Mark Knopfler, in support of the Club’s Charity, Marie Curie Cancer Care.

With a launch party at the Gins Clubhouse on Tuesday of this week, and another at Ocean Village on Tuesday next week, the dvd’s are now available for a minimum donation of £10 with the proceeds going to Marie Curie.

The launch party at Gins included a hot buffet, followed by a showing of the DVD.

The Southampton Premiere is to be held at Ocean Village Clubhouse on December 16 again in support of the Commodore's charity, Marie Curie Cancer Care and the DVD will once more be on sale.

Hot Buffet - 7pm for 7.30.
Cost £12 to include £5 donation to Marie Curie.

The DVD is available from
Royal Southampton Yacht Club, 1 Channel Way, Ocean Village, Southampton, Hants, UK, SO14 3QF tel. +44(0)2380 223352
Email rsyc@rsyc.org.uk for a MINIMUM DONATION OF £10
