Nearly seventy members and their quests enjoyed the Gins Opening Party and Quiz night that took place on Saturday, February 6.

A number of contestants braved the cold weather and arrived by boat, spending the night on the Club pontoon.

The evening started with a aromatic curry buffet supper prepared by our chef, Sally Cardigan. This was followed by a "taster" quiz designed to wet the appetites of the more competitive members in readiness for Gins coming series of Quiz nights to be hosted by Roger Townsend (see forward programmed events).

The first quiz was prepared and hosted by John Boyd who provided the teams with interesting questions, spanning a wide variety of subjects both themed and of a more general nature. He also kindly provided the winning team with a bottle of wine each as a prize.

The wooden spoons were awarded to the youngest team who were delighted with their prizes.
