FROM THE COMMODORE
During the coming year, and despite the economic challenges that face us all, the Club can look forward to some exciting events.
In April there will be an official opening of our new pontoon at Gins which will involve a day of fun for all the family; we shall host a magnificent regatta for the J Class yachts in July and many of our race officers will be involved in the Olympic sailing regatta in Weymouth.
The OV Carvery Quiz is ten years old and continues to be extremely popular. We have a new chairman of the Steak and Kidney Pudding Club, Peter Armitage, where lively debate, in a new format, follows chef’s magnificent pudding.
This is all in addition to the many other racing, cruising and social events that take place throughout the year at both clubhouses.
I know that the relevant committees have worked hard to provide a great sailing and social calendar for 2012. There is something for everyone and I hope to meet as many members as possible during the coming year.
