WELCOME
The clock is ticking to the start of the 2011 edition of the the Royal Southampton Yacht Club's 540 mile yacht race from the Solent to Hondarribia in northern Spain. Entries are invited. The race is due to start on June 18, 2011.
The 2011 BNY Mellon Biscay Challenge
. . . "One of the most challenging and tactical races around ”
It is hard to believe that barely a year has gone by since we were all recovering from the last Biscay Challenge and we now have less than 300 days to the start of the next one. Expressions of interest are already coming in and are logged on this website.
I invite you to consider competing in the 2011 BNY Mellon Biscay Challenge, due to start from the Solent on June 18 and to register your interest on this website, under 'Entries'. Filling in the Interest Registration Form does not commit you to entering, but just to receive further information as time goes by.
You will see from the race title that this time we have been fortunate in securing a major sponsor in Bank of New York Mellon.
BNY Mellon is one of the world's major financial institutions, operating in over 30 countries including Spain, and we see it as a compliment that they are prepared to be associated with the Biscay Challenge and so supportive of it.
The BNY Mellon Biscay Challenge is a 540 mile double handed race across the Bay of Biscay to the beautiful little town of Hondarribia, in the heart of the Basque Country, where we were looked after so well last year and to where we are returning.
In fact we have many similarities to last time, with the same Race Management Team - and the hospitality and friendship connected with our race, both at Southampton and Hondarribia, which was so much appreciated by competitors, will continue unabated.
