Roger Townsend's seemingly bottomless wardrobe provided yet another alias when he kindly hosted the Spring Quiz Night at Gins on March 11.

T E Lawrence or was it Osama Bin Laden provided an unlikely host for the Italian themed evening, although it has to be said that the Arab communities are much in the news at present, the probably reason for Lawrence of Arabia's arrival at the event.

In line with the Gins policy of the "not too serious quiz" seven teams enjoyed an excellent lasagne prepared by Sally Cardigan and her kitchen team followed by questions on a myriad of subjects, unlike the previous quiz that had a maritime theme. Ultimately the winners emerged as "The Magnificent Seven" a little strange as there are only supposed to be six in each team!!
