Despite the fact that we now have a smart new pontoon extension at Gins, the Club is still faced with paying for this new facility.
Members or indeed visitors are reminded that you can still become one of the band of “Plankers” by donating £50 towards the cost of a plank (larger donations are of course welcome).
At a recent Flags Forum a question was raised as to whether the fund (which has now reached £9,000) is still active. The answer is unquestionably YES and further donations will be greatly appreciated. Donations can be made through either Maggie Puleston at OV or if more convenient the Steward at Gins Clubhouse. Donations can be by cash, cheque, card or for convenience charged to a “Mess Account."
I am sure that those who have used this new facility so far will confirm what an improvement the pontoon has made to the Gins Clubhouse.
All those who ultimately donate will be recognised on a smart plaque in the Clubhouse and a formal opening of the pontoon will be arranged some time next year.
